About Department
Forensic Medicine
Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology is located in the ground floor of Medical College building. It consists of an established museum, practical hall, staff room, library and demonstration room with good teaching and learning materials. The museum consists of materials of medico-legal importance such as specimens, photographs, charts, models, weapon of assault and chemicals & plants of toxicological importance.
Forensic medicine is the application of medical knowledge to the investigation of crime, particularly in establishing the causes of injury or death. The department is engaged in multiple activities such as teaching and training in Medico-legal work to undergraduates as well as post graduates, and also involved in many research works.

Undergraduate academics
The department continues with its undergraduate teaching programme, which includes MBBS. The methods of teaching like integrated teaching, problem based learning models, small group discussions, seminars and MCQs are being carried out to strengthen the concepts in forensic medicine and toxicology.
