Basaveshwara Medical College and Hospital (BMCH) held a successful orientation program today for its newly admitted MBBS students. The event was led by Poojya Dr. Basavakumar Swamiji, an esteemed Administrative Member of SJMVP, who delivered an uplifting speech on the significance of the medical profession and encouraged students to dedicate themselves to their studies and the service of humanity.
Dr. Prashanth G., Dean of BMCH, reassured parents about the supportive environment at the institution, highlighting BMCH's holistic approach to education, which balances academics with personal growth through spirituality and extracurricular activities. He proudly shared that BMCH currently holds the 14th rank among medical colleges in Karnataka and announced that 148 of 150 MBBS seats had been filled during the second round of admissions this year.
In addition to introducing the faculty and administrative staff to the students and parents, Dr. Prashanth emphasized the college's commitment to student welfare, supported by active Anti-Ragging and Student Grievance Committees.
Poojya Dr. Basavakumar Swamiji shared the institution's legacy, recalling the contribution made by the Mysore dynasty's Nalvadi Krishna Rajendra Wadiyar in 1934 to establish a foundation for medical education. He encouraged students to lead a balanced life, advising them to avoid negative influences and instead focus on sports and cultural activities for stress management.
The event concluded with heartfelt speeches from parents, who expressed their trust and confidence in BMCH as the ideal place for their children’s medical education.
